How to Move Valorant to Another Drive

  • First, navigate to the drive where you have Valorant installed. It is usually C:\Riot Games.
  • Second, right-click Riot Games and choose Cut from the options in the context menu.
  • Next, go to the target drive, right-click the blank space, and choose Paste from the context menu to paste Riot Games.
  • In this step, get the Valorant launcher or Riot Client downloaded from here.
  • Next, double-click on install VALORANT and launch the Valorant setup.
  • You can now choose ADVANCED OPTIONS to move further.
  • In this step, click the folder icon, choose the location where you want to install Valorant, and click OK.
  • Lastly, restart your computer to complete the process.

Method 2: Change the default save location of Valorant

You can change where Windows saves Valorant files on your computer to move them to another location. Below is how to move Valorant to another drive by changing its default save location. 

  • First, access settings using the Windows logo key+I key combination.
  • Next, choose Apps from the on-screen options.
  • In this step, find and right-click Valorant and choose Uninstall from the on-screen context menu.
  • Next, navigate to the download directory, double-click on the Valorant launcher, and choose Advanced Settings from the available options.
  • In this step, choose the location where you want to get Valorant installed and click Install.
  • Next, open the settings panel (using the Windows+I shortcut) and click on the System settings.
  • In this step, select the option to Change where new content is saved from More Storage Settings.
  • Lastly, you can change the Valorant install path by selecting the new location.

Method 3: Change configuration files to move Valorant

Another way to download Valorant on a different drive is by changing the configuration files via command-line computer operations. Below is how to move Valorant to another drive by following the way below. 

  • First, right-click your Valorant launcher and choose the option to open the file location.
  • Second, right-click on the Valorant folder and choose Cut from the available options.
  • Next, copy the folder to another drive.
  • In this step, go to the Valorant>live folder and copy the same.
  • Next, access the Run tool using the Windows key+R key combination.
  • In this step, type %programdata% in the on-screen Run box and press Enter.
  • After locating and opening the Riot Games folder, use Notepad to open the RiotClientInstalls.json file.
  • In this step, replace the product_install_full_path in Associated_client with the path you copied previously.
  • Once you have saved the file, navigate to Metadata in the Riot Games folder and choose valorant.live.
  • Next, use Notepad to launch the valorant.live.product_settings.yaml file.
  • Lastly, replace the product_install_root path value with the Valorant file and click on Save.

Method 4: Use a game transfer tool to move Valorant

You can use a game transfer tool like EaseUS Todo PCTrans to move installed games between various storage locations (for example, external drives or hard drives) or to another device without reinstalling your game. Simply, download and install the game transfer tool, locate Valorant, specify the location where you want to move the game, start the transfer, and restart your computer.
